Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one. ~Jane Howard

They say Christmas is about spending time with family and celebrating the things that matter most, here some of the ones that matter most to me...

Just because I know you will understand...

I was at the gym yesterday. Rode the bike for 45 minutes...feeling really good about myself. I went over to the mats in front of the mirror. This is where I like to do a lot of the therapy stuff that they told me to do once I was working out on my own. So I lay on the mat. You know how they are kinda sectioned off? Well, there are about six or seven sections on this one. I chose the one that was right in the middle. Some guy was all the way to the left. I needed to leave good room between us...it's proper gym etiquette. I had just finished my sitting exercises and as I lay down, some guy the size of Texas chooses the section right next to mine on the mat. I am all of a sudden very aware of myself and how I must look on this mat. Oh boy... Then, another guy, this one about the size of Illinois chooses the mat on my left. What the ?!?!!? These two insanely large (but not gross where the veins are popping out) men are doing one arm pushups, ab crunches, butt lifts and all this intense stuff. They were so serious...grunting and all! I was directly in the middle, working on my one at a time leg lifts. No weights. Breathing easily. Yeah, that's right. I am tough. All of a sudden, I realized how ridiculous the whole scene must have looked. I laughed out loud which threw them off their concentration. They both looked at me curiously but I wasn't about to explain. I was too busy working out...
